I always think that the pros outweigh the cons of army relationships. Any stage of the relationship as just dating, getting engaged and then married the good reasons to date a soldier will always be the same. I have a lot of ideas recently for my army relationship theme on my blog so I loved the idea of this post and compiled 10 reasons to explain..
1. Men in uniform will never go out of style, whether he is a soldier, a firefighter a police man no woman or man can resist a man in uniform. After all there is a website for finding people in uniform or something haha. I love seeing Nathan in uniform it makes me happy and it makes me think ''oh he's rather handsome''.
2. He is immensely calm, obviously soldiers need calm tempers as they aren't always gonna work with people they like and they wouldn't mind giving them a dig to the face. However, if this guy is a higher rank they can't go punching their higher ranked colleagues. So it rubs off on normal life, Nathan can just stay so calm he said the army helped him calm himself and he can put up with so much before he gets angry.
3. They tend to be guy's guys. They love to be very hands on and do manly things like playing football or going to the gym. Which a lot of the time means they will be very manly towards there partners and defend there lady (or man). Not to mention there tends to be an air of masculinity, they smell awesome from manly aftershave hehe and he will want to do things that you don't want to do like DIY.
4. Most army partners are protective. You are their girl/guy. They protect their colleagues in the field so when they are home and don't have to do that they are gonna protect the one person who isn't family but is always there for them. They obviously care quite a bit for their partners so they wanna make sure no one is hurting them.
5. They have some great stories. Whether they're from deployment, training or day to day camp life they tend to be hilarious containing public nudity, cruel pranks and swearing. Nathan showed me a story the other day where they tied a guy to a pole with duct tape and I mean like miles and miles of duct tape and left him their. Harsh but funny and I got to see pictures hahaha...
6. He will probably be a chivalrous guy, whether it is simply holding open a door or pulling out a chair. Nathan will always insist of paying for a meal but if we go out for a day and he pays for bowling or the cinema I will pay for KFC after or popcorn and a drink and chocolate at the cinema because he probably payed more. They mostly know how to treat a lady because they want their daughters to be treated the same way.
7. He knows the meaning of loyalty, in the army there are two types of guys the players or the guys who want a steady girlfriend. When a girl gets the latter option he will be so loyal to her because she probably knows that some of his friends like to mess around and cheat on girls. Although a lot of the lads keep the lads from doing anything you can tell when someone is loyal to you..
8. He will appreciate you especially when far away, being far apart is a con but when you talk over the phone during this it makes things a little easier because he will be sweet and ask how things are going. He is just happy to have someone to talk to that has time for them.
9. He will be a romantic - maybe a closet romantic. So he may not show his love to people in public or his colleagues but in private he will do cute things or plan nice dates to just spend time with you.
10. They know the value of life and how precious time is, if they do see the sad side of the army such as death or loss they will know how precious and important it is to have a partner and how they will wait for them. They appreciate each minute with their loved one and sometimes they just want to hold you because they are scared they won't see you for a long time after that.
Well my lovelies hope you enjoyed this because it made me smile writing it. I hope other girls/guys in army relationships can relate to this post because it is rather true and meaningful.
All my love,
