10 reasons to date a soldier...

I always think that the pros outweigh the cons of army relationships. Any stage of the relationship as just dating, getting engaged and then married the good reasons to date a soldier will always be the same. I have a lot of ideas recently for my army relationship theme on my blog so I loved the idea of this post and compiled 10 reasons to explain..

1. Men in uniform will never go out of style, whether he is a soldier, a firefighter a police man no woman or man can resist a man in uniform. After all there is a website for finding people in uniform or something haha. I love seeing Nathan in uniform it makes me happy and it makes me think ''oh he's rather handsome''.

2. He is immensely calm, obviously soldiers need calm tempers as they aren't always gonna work with people they like and they wouldn't mind giving them a dig to the face. However, if this guy is a higher rank they can't go punching their higher ranked colleagues. So it rubs off on normal life, Nathan can just stay so calm he said the army helped him calm himself and he can put up with so much before he gets angry.

3. They tend to be guy's guys. They love to be very hands on and do manly things like playing football or going to the gym. Which a lot of the time means they will be very manly towards there partners and defend there lady (or man). Not to mention there tends to be an air of masculinity, they smell awesome from manly aftershave hehe and he will want to do things that you don't want to do like DIY.

4. Most army partners are protective. You are their girl/guy. They protect their colleagues in the field so when they are home and don't have to do that they are gonna protect the one person who isn't family but is always there for them. They obviously care quite a bit for their partners so they wanna make sure no one is hurting them.

5. They have some great stories. Whether they're from deployment, training or day to day camp life they tend to be hilarious containing public nudity, cruel pranks and swearing. Nathan showed me a story the other day where they tied a guy to a pole with duct tape and I mean like miles and miles of duct tape and left him their. Harsh but funny and I got to see pictures hahaha...

6. He will probably be a chivalrous guy, whether it is simply holding open a door or pulling out a chair. Nathan will always insist of paying for a meal but if we go out for a day and he pays for bowling or the cinema I will pay for KFC after or popcorn and a drink and chocolate at the cinema because he probably payed more. They mostly know how to treat a lady because they want their daughters to be treated the same way.

7. He knows the meaning of loyalty, in the army there are two types of guys the players or the guys who want a steady girlfriend. When a girl gets the latter option he will be so loyal to her because she probably knows that some of his friends like to mess around and cheat on girls. Although a lot of the lads keep the lads from doing anything you can tell when someone is loyal to you..

8. He will appreciate you especially when far away, being far apart is a con but when you talk over the phone during this it makes things a little easier because he will be sweet and ask how things are going. He is just happy to have someone to talk to that has time for them.

9. He will be a romantic - maybe a closet romantic. So he may not show his love to people in public or his colleagues but in private he will do cute things or plan nice dates to just spend time with you.

10. They know the value of life and how precious time is, if they do see the sad side of the army such as death or loss they will know how precious and important it is to have a partner and how they will wait for them. They appreciate each minute with their loved one and sometimes they just want to hold you because they are scared they won't see you for a long time after that.

Well my lovelies hope you enjoyed this because it made me smile writing it. I hope other girls/guys in army relationships can relate to this post because it is rather true and meaningful.

All my love,

My 5 top TV shows..

When I finally get round to watching TV I watch the same handful of shows everytime, normally based around crime drama, reality Tv and horror drama. A rather odd mix but once I explain them it will all make sense I promise hahaha.

Ex on the beach

Absolutely looooove Ex on the beach like I thought I would never love it without Vicky Pattinson, but I have really enjoyed season 4. I am completely in love with Helen, I keep saying to Nathan that I'm working at having a figure like hers it's unbelievable! So when her ex Chet came on I was so happy because they are such a cute couple and a laugh together. However, let's not deny the biggest ex arrival Megan Mckenna and Jordan. UNREAL!

The Walking Dead

It's crazy to think I was in year 10 when this started and I thought nothing of it like it wouldn't be as amazing as it is. I like how everything really links together and how you can never actually see an ending for The Walking Dead. I was completely devastated when Carl lost his eye recently because he is one of my favourites so I was furious! But Rick and everyone's killing of what a thousand walkers was immense! I sometimes debate starting the whole show from the beginning but then I remember how many episodes there are and I couldn't deal with the heart break of deaths like T-dog's and Hershel's.

Teen Wolf

I started watching this show for one reason and his name is Dylan O'Brien. After The Maze Runner me and Nathan both started watching it and I was like 'wow this is amazing'. Stiles which is the character Dylan plays is so brilliant he like witty and sassy and has the funniest comebacks so it makes the show worth the watch. I love things with wolves, vampires, all things like that so this show was definitely for me.

Csi Miami

I feel like this is a really old show but I love the whole crime drama thing. I love crime documentaries because my gran used to get me to watch them so it's stuck with me. I love all kinds of CSI to be fair but I love Horatio in this. They always have good stories and there is always a familiar celebrity now and again in an episode. I actually bought like 3 dvd's the other week of CSI: Miami, it's a bad addiction. In real life cases like in CSI would never get solved but the way they are all solved is brilliant and always so unique.

Pretty Little Liars

\

I was so late on the PLL train but after seeing all this stuff about A, I was like I have to watch this so I started it over Christmas. I may only be on season 2 but it is amazing. It has mystery and drama and crime so no wonder I like it but it is so interesting how each girl has something different going on. But not to mention how beautiful is Lucy Hale OMG!

Of course these 5 are not my only TV shows that I enjoy so I do want to mention a few that I do enjoy from time to time.

Jeremy Kyle

If people can honestly say they don't watch Jeremy Kyle from time to time when at home then there is something wrong. There is just sometimes that odd story about someone stealing a fridge and you think 'what...'.

RuPaul's Drag Race

What shocks me more than anything about this show is how beautiful some of the girls are. Like my favourite at the minute is Violet Chachki, I don't know if when filming the other girls actually thought she was shady but she is fierce! She is unbelievably beautiful, and her costumes/outfits were beautiful! I love some of the outfit choices especially if a queen looks a little busted, but I just think this show is amazing for fashion lovers and open minded people.

Well those are my favourite TV's shows my lovelies hope you enjoyed and don't think I am too weird for like horror drama or crime drama. I like Ru Paul and Ex on the beach though and those are a little girly haha.

Anyway my lovelies

The league of evil army women...

So I have not done a post about one of my main blog factors in a long time. I wanted this to have a funny but honest twist on probably the worst thing about an army relationship... THE WOMEN! From partners, family or randomers there is always a crafty woman around the corner that is like HEEEEEEEEEY! and I'm thinking 'no no get back in your box'. I am rarely catty or mean spirited but when things bug me things bug me and I have to be honest. So let's go...

So I have experienced two years of being around an army environment and I have made mental notes of nasty or as the title says 'evil' behaviour. I think I see this more with the partners or girlfriends because WOW! I thought wanting to see a 'what's in my bag' was nosey these girls want to see what's in your shower, your knicker draw and your fridge. I have met a handful of Nathan's colleagues partner and some are awesome and so lovely like one of them is such an amazing friend to me and gives me so much advice. However, I have met some awful women! I don't say names but women that are so nosey and close-minded it makes you want to physically scream.

As someones fiance/girlfriend you know your partner better than anyone, you know what makes them happy/sad/grumpy/irritated so when you say to someone 'just leave him alone he needs space' don't ignore that and go against it. Nathan had just got off a nine hour flight from Canada he had jet lag, he just wanted his fiance (girlfriend at the time) and his family. Well this one particular woman was pestering Nathan even during his deployment to purchase something off her, she messaged me constantly like 'hi how are you' then BAM 'when is Nathan giving me the money blah blah'. Eventually it got that old that I said 'SACK IT! I don't want them anymore' and Nathan told her that when she messaged him at four in the morning asking him. She actually had the cheek to slate him to me.. well I wasn't having it so I kicked off, told her not to slate my fiance and don't talk to us.

I just don't like when people don't listen to me especially when I am right. Second up! The 'hierarchy'. I class this as women putting other women's husband down, all because there husband gets more money or a better job title but it doesn't make them a nice person. So this comes from women of sergeants or corporals and when they meet you they are like 'OH well my husband is a sergeant you wouldn't understand because Nathan is only a blah blah blah..' You know that condescending thing. It honestly puts people of that guys partner and makes her look like she loves power from her husbands job title SAD!

So something that drives me mad but is not about army partners is about those long lost relatives that are so over proud just to brag to friends they have a cousin twice removed that's in the army. It's normally women that do this, they love a man in the army but it's purely to brag to friends 'my nephew is in the army' but do they ever speak to their nephew NOPE!

Along with nosey partners comes the patronising randomers that normally come from your partners side, they have an opinion that is probably condescending and bitchy but they think their entitled to announce it. Whether there saying you haven't been together long enough or your not ready for such a grown up step (when they are the EXACT same age as you). It always comes to mind why mine and Nathan's choice are anyone else's business and from people who we never bother with...

Now their is something called a 'title liver' these are the women who use their husbands job title as part of their own name to show a sense of power. For instance, MRS SERGEANT WILSON maybe they think if they announce there title to everyone they can get 5% of at KFC or something like hey discount.

Now the last two kinds of women I want to explain drive me INSANE! the 'one-uppers and the over advice givers'. Starting with the one-uppers these are women that are always saying things like 'you've only been together two years I've been with Steve 9 years and had seven kids one after the other and been through 97 deployments and plenty of training exercise, and I've been shot' you'll find they are very patronising too because they have been through SOOOOOO much worse...

The advice givers however, have seen and done it all and are subtle one-uppers 'well I have been through a lot like the 6 month deployments but I would honestly get a hobby to pass the time'. At first it isn't too bad until their messaging you at two in the morning with the stupidest and weirdest advice that you couldn't care less about.

But through it all the 'league of evil army women' are bare able when you have a utility belt of tools like batman to keep the crazies at bay, a cuddle from your soldier and lots of good memories to out way the bad.

Hope this post made you all have a giggle, I genuinely think there is a league of evil army women they are out there BEWARE!

Anyway my lovelies as usual.

Interior Design Inspiration...

Along with my love for beauty, makeup and other girly things I have a passion for interior design. I always think since I turned 20 I strayed from childish things to cosy pyjamas, home interiors and decorating. I still love my makeup and beauty but I have this obsession with looking at home interiors and really classic and clean layouts. Me and Nathan have always decided I will decorate our home and he can have a games room until little babies come along. So I have spent time looking at Pinterest and We Heart It for inspiration and I want to share that with you...

I intend to do each in sections as I have done little collages of each main room such as kitchen, bedroom and the mighty MAN CAVE! So I seriously hope you all enjoy this because I loved looking for rooms and inspiration, it definitely expresses my style.

Main Bedroom

I am a huge fan of light colours white, cream and pastels and for my bedroom I would a light coloured bedroom I don't think dark colours work in a bedroom they are so harsh and bad for vibes I think so I would love a unisex bedroom not tonnes of pink or blue but each side of the bed custom to whoever's side it is. I really want it to be comfy but clean like I hate mess like clothes everywhere, I just think clean and tidy not cluttered is a lot nicer.

Kitchen

When I think about a future kitchen I would love a chalkboard wall, they are gorgeous for writing cute messages or general shopping lists. A long with a general pastel colour theme with hints of copper, I really just want a kitchen that blends together well and is somewhere I want to spend time with a possible window seat/bench.

Dining Room

I do have high expectations for my future home but in all honesty what's the point in having low standards. Nathan is just like 'Zoe decorate the house as you like' because he knows how happy it makes me, so I'd rather have a beautiful home where I try new decor and interiors than a crappy home covered in shit all the time. Anyway, this is my kind of idea for a dining room very clean and crisp with hints of fur and a simple colour scheme.

Lounge/Living Room

So in regards to a living room/lounge I really want like a corner unit I just think they are easier and I don't intend to have tonnes of people roaming in my house so they can sit in the floor haha EVIL! I love to sit on the floor so no worries, but I loved the simple colour scheme of this I do like grey so grey could work with simple coloured scheme cushions. I like the idea of a big fluffy rug with a white table on top that has matching coloured flowers on which match the cushions.

Nathan's man cave...

Onto the MAN CAVE! Nathan is obsessed with a few things in life such as the Avengers, Batman, Star Wars and his playstation. I have seen big canvas before with The Avengers and Star Wars on before so they would look amazing! Overall, I just want him to have a room he can be a little childish in while it looking pretty cool and fun.

Nursery (eeeeek so cute!)

So obviously I want a little nursery for the baby Darcy's that come along and I think this would be my perfect room to decorate. I love the look of the little tent/teepee with the garland tassel and just the simple colours and especially the little library of books. So excited to finally be able to decorate a nursery for my own children because I would honestly try to give them the best in life.

Army Interior decor

Finally, I have said this a million and one time but I want to incorporate long distance and the army into my home. Maybe with a map in the kitchen showing where Nathan has been or where we have been on vacation or where Nathan is at the minute. Along with cute time change clocks and quote plaques and pillows. I think it would just put a cute and personal touch on our family home.

Well that is my room inspiration for the minute and what I am thinking of for the future Nathan and Zoe home, hope you all enjoyed the read!

My go to makeup products...

I must be on a roll because I am full of ideas at the minute for blog posts and DIY projects haha, I have been meaning to put up on here my favourite products or everyday products for a while. Some of these are recent go to products in the past months or products I have used for years, so I am SUPER excited to share these with you all....

Starting with face products such as foundation, concealers and powders.

So these products are a mixture as I stated starting with Bourjois Healthy mix foundation (Vanilla Clair) £9.99, I love this foundation it is full coverage doesn't take a lot for a flawless look and is an all around winner with a classic scent. I was debating between this and the serum and I chose this and have loved it ever since. I have been through two bottles in two years due to the fact I have a lot of foundations and this is one of my everyday foundations.

Next to this is my MAC Studio Fix Fluid (NW10) £22, it is said to have medium- build able coverage but I think it does a great job of creating an even base. The scent of this is completely different to any other foundation but it's so nice! I use this on special occasions and when I am going on special dates with Nathan as I want to look nice, it is comfortable and long wearing with an SPF of 15 not to mention it has skin condition treatments which is something I need as I have oily skin most of the time.

Onto my concealers, surprisingly these are two new concealers for me. I love the collection concealer like most makeup lovers but everyone knows they are good. However, I wanted to include two that were drugstore and high end. The Avon Ideal Flawless Cream Concealer (Fair) £7 is amazing for covering imperfections and I have found recently works so well for sharpening my brows. A lightweight concealer that covers under eyes with creasing and brightens the look of the under eye area, blending seamlessly to look light and and natural. Onto Nars Creamy Concealer (Chantilly) £22.50, I received this for my 20th birthday and have not looked back! It is unreal for covering blemishes and when I run out I will 100% repurchase, perfect for all skin types it has a smooth texture and is build able with a pigmented colour.

Finally onto the powders, starting with MAC Margin Blush £18.50 I received this also with my Nars concealer. This is highly pigmented with a slight shimmer through the blush and perfect for a healthy glow. I love to wear this when I feel like cheek colour as sometimes I just have a bronzed look with contour and highlight. Rimmel Stay Matte Powder £2.99 (Bodycare) apart from my Mac powder this is my everyday savour and I 100% use this everyday, for someone with oily skin this really does work and makes my face matte for several hours before I have a slight touch up. So the final products works well on it's own but I find used a wet brush sprayed with  MAC Fix+ £17 the Makeup Revolution Highlighter (Pink Lights) £3 looks unreal combined! I also have this in peach lights and it looks just as good. For a drugstore highlight priced at £3 this is unbelievable and so worth the money.

Next up eyes, from a range of products such as eyeshadows, primers and mascaras.

So this consists of three palette's a primer/paintpot and a mascara and they are all unreal! Beginning with the Soap & Glory Lid Stuff (What's Nude) £10. this is an all around winning nude palette. Consisted of two light shades and two browns with one of them being a shimmer, this works so well with the eyeshadow being shown in my Mac Palette and is my everyday eye look.

Secondly, MAC jest eyeshadow £10 (top left) a warm champagne colour with plenty of shimmer this eyeshadow is perfect for the centre of the lid and inner tear duct. As I mentioned it looks so perfect with the Lid Stuff and I can happily wear this everyday, I am fully debating buying this as a single eyeshadow in the case or a 2 pan palette with two jest's in because I am terrified it will run out hahaha.

The only primer in this section is the Maybelline Eyestudio Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Eyeshadow  in Creme De Nude £4.99, this is honestly a dupe for the MAC paint pot in soft ochre and I use it daily as a primer for my eyeshadow. I also own soft ochre and I can say it is honestly the same and is a quarter of the price of a paint pot. Along with this is the Soap & Glory Thick & Fast HD Mascara £10.50, I love this when I don't want to use the Maybelline Lash Sensational Lash Multiplying Mascara. It makes my lashes look exactly how it says Thick, and is super pigmented. I cannot say I have seen it run even when I am at the gym or anywhere else so it is super long wearing.

Finally, we get to my largest palette the Urban Decay Naked 3 £34. Complete with 12 rose - heud nuetral eyeshadow shades and a double ended brush. This gives the ability to choose from shimmering pinks to glittery blacks but most of all it reminds me of my favourite metallic shade rose gold/ copper and this was my first Urban Decay palette. I use this alot of the time and treat it along with my other Urban Decay palettes as my baby. So wearable and stunning!

So finally onto lips, a combination of lipsticks, lip crayons and lip pencils.

So I do love MAC a lot but I also included two drugstore lip products as some of the drugstores do have amazing colours sometimes better than MAC. Starting with MAC Whirl lipstick £15.50, I have spoke about this lipstick already a tonne but it is my favourite!! It's funny to think that I didn't like the colour at first and now I wear it everyday and always get complimented about it. Onto the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet (Don't pink of it) £8.99, bolding lasting with 24hr hold this dries quickly and very little is needed for a strong lip look. I like to use this as an undertone with Whirl to create the dark pink look I am searching for.

Now the lipliners, Mac's lipliners in Spice & Plum £12.50 each, are my babies! Both dark with different lip looks these lipliners are unreal. I also love Rimmel lipliners and Essence but these are just addictive in collecting. They can also be used as a all over lip look not just to make the lips look fuller, I use a Maybelline Baby Lips to soften the lips or a Lush Lip scrub and then have a soft but full lip look.

Now this is a surprise for lip favourites, the P.S Primark Velvet Matte Lipstick Crayon in L.Brown £2.50. this colour is a mix between a pinky brown and reminds me some what of Whirl. The price of this unreal and Primark have utterly shocked me even though I use there eyebrow powder most days as well. Definitely worth trying!

So those are my go to makeup products, hope everyone enjoyed the read because I loved writing this and explaining why I love these products!

All my love,

MAC Wishlist 2016...

I have had my eye on a lot of MAC products recently mainly lip products and I wanted to share that with you. Alot of the shades I have chosen are rather dark browns or intense lip colours as I am really into a dark lip at the minute, excuse the fact number 14 is in the middle I only realised afterwards I hadn't number it haha..

Subculture Lip Liner £12.50 - a lot of the lip liners here are ones I have seen online on We Heart It, I have a serious obsession with brown toned lip liners and lipsticks recently so I think this is perfect for my collection.
Fascination Eye Kohl £14 - I have a few white eyeliners but I am desperate for a high end one so I can emphasise my eyes and make them look bigger.
Cork Lipliner £12.50 - another dark toned lipliner I think this would be perfect for Stone Lipstick as they match really well and I 100% want a lipliner to match Stone.
Double Shot Lipstick £15.50 - I seen this on one of my friends in Instagram and she matte-fied it with baby powder and it looked unreal like with a beautiful full lip look. NEED NEED NEED!
Stripdown Lipliner £12.50 - As well as my dark lip liners I also want some lighter ones and from what I have seen of swatches and such this looks like a perfect shade to add to my collection.
Stone Lipstick £15.50 - A very dark toned lipstick this is my step up from Whirl as I want to go even dark now it's either going to make me look gothic or I will love it but I am sure I could learn to love it haha
Prolongwear Concealer NC15 £17.50 - I have several concealers from Mac and love them all and something about this concealer how its raved about and the packaging appeal to me so i want to give it a new home and I have stared to buy more concealers recently.
35 Lash £10.50 - I do not own many pairs of lashes but these look beautiful and add length so I definitely want a bigger lash collection. Hopefully. I will become a lash pro.
Edge to Edge Lip Liner £12.50 - a dirty blue pink lipliner I am a fan of this tone I want to add a more vibrant lip liner to my collection as I think it would work wonders with Please Me lipstick.
Stone Lipliner £12.50 - WELL if it is lip liner form why not it would do wonders with Stone or Whirl.  A muted greyish- taupe brown this sounds unreal and looks so good in swatches online.
Strobe Cream £24.50 -  I have mac Fix+ and it lasts me such a long time so I think this would be an investment I hear wonderful things about it online so I do want to try it out.
Mahogany Lip Liner £12.50 - Another brown toned lip liner but this looks unreal in swatches so a girl can never have too many brown lipliners haha
Hover Lipliner £12.50 - I seen this shade on We Heart It, and from that moment it was on my wish list it looks so beautiful and the colour is described as a rich caramel brown. mmm yummy..
Finally, Oak Lipliner £12.50 - A nude lipliner with a slight brown undertone this is a staple for a lot of online beauty gurus and also it looked like a good colour to have for not a dark brown lip and not a completely nude lip.

Well that's all for now my lovelies hope this wasn't too rambley,
As Always

What's in my bag 2016 edition...

So I am naturally a nosey person in regards to what's in peoples bag videos and room tours etc. So let's not beat around the subject and I'll show you what's in my bag...

So this is the bag I received for my 20th birthday of my mum I think it was from Primark and I absolutely love it! It has a longer strap which I use over my shoulder as I'm not a crook of my arm bag person. So the second image is a brief overview of my bag, as you can see there are two pouches a large one saying 'nobody said it was easy and a purple one with a unicorn on saying 'dream big' these I will explain later on as I either take one or the other depending on my day.

I carry a range of electronics/gadgets with me including two portable chargers and my Fujifilm instax mini 8 camera in Raspberry and my headphones. The little lenses shows in the two above pictures are lenses that I use on my phone to take interesting and cool pictures. I bought these on Amazon for around £5 and they are amazing and so worth the money!

So onto the pouches I use these to store my items I'll probably end up needing. Such as bobbles, tablets, hair grips, hand sanitiser because I am a germaphobe and tissues. The larger one I put more in such as hand cream and a brush and pens whereas the smaller purple on holds single grips and one or two bobbles and my sanitiser along with paracetamol and a tissue. These are so handy and has saved my life more times than I count I also like to put my glasses in here and a contact lenses pot with solution in incase my eyes become irritated. So yeah that's my little safety raft...

So along with my purse that is in the overview I also carry my keys, I love my keys bit sad as they are specialised to me with key rings from our friends winter wedding photo booth, a heart keyring I got made and Nathan has a matching one. As well as the key rings with my name on off my little sister, a USB a dream catcher keychain which I love and a little bronzed pixie that was on my grans keys so she is also with me.

Now I am paranoid about my smell so I'm like 'AGGGGH MUST SMELL NICE AT ALL TIMES!' so I have a roller deodorant that smells so good from Imperial Leather I love these because they get right to the skin especially after the gym or anything there good to use. I also have two sprays one in the sugar crush scent from Soap and Glory (Citrus aggggh!) and my favourite Impulse in Tease. My handbag perfume that I carry with me is one of Nathan that he got me from Canada by Ralph Lauren called Romance, he knows I love fresh and floral scents so this is perfect for me and he loves when I wear this..

Finally, onto my light reading. I wasn't reading for such a long time but I have finally got onto reading the second book from The Mortal Instruments line I loved the first one and I am thoroughly getting into this. Jace though mmmmm...

Well that is all my lovelies I hope you enjoyed this post! Thanks for reading as always!

All my love,
